Seeing that AI tool that lets you draw an app and then it spits out the code… mind blown. I reckon there’s a small window now where people who learn to leverage this stuff will get a big head start in the race, before everyone else realizes what they’re missing and tries to catch up.

Proud of my bad days, because they’re never that bad anymore. Used to be that I’d self-destruct when I was feeling low, binge on Netflix and junk food and barely move all day. Now on a bad day I still eat super-clean, do my stretching and steps, and I might watch a movie or two max.

  3. Oct 2023

A long walk in the woods, trying to be present and soak it all in, stop sometimes and cycle through the senses. The changing color of the soil, signs of squirrels, a tree with the bark all scraped off, the trickle of distant running water, the hint of a deer that way.

Finally have the newsletter switched over to the new software. One of those tasks that I thought would be quick but ended up taking 2 weeks. And now the real work begins: using this new software to take the newsletter to the next level. Lots of work just to get to the starting line.

I’m more anxious about some things now than I used to be. Coming back to Ireland and driving on the other side of the road, never used to bother me much, now it’s stressful. Might be because back in the day I was single and had few responsibilities. Now it’s not only about me.

  6. Jul 2023

I’m aiming to be successful enough with my online business that I can start local businesses that only need to break even. Plenty of products and services I wish existed in Andorra. Be good to scratch my own itch and improve the quality of life here for others at the same time.

Feeling tired – exhausted, even – can be nice. But mostly when I don’t have lots to do or catch up on. Then I can lean into the tiredness, laze on the couch and watch a movie. I guess all feelings are fine so long as you’re not thinking you shouldn’t have them.

Staying in a bunch of Airbnbs over the years has given me a better feel for interior design. Back in the day you’d only really get to see inside your friends’ houses. Now it’s easy to see inside strangers’ houses and take note of what you like, what you don’t.

Watching NBA Playoff basketball with Me Mad Cuz.
  9. Apr 2023

NBA Playoffs started this weekend. Not as big into it as I was in my teens and twenties, but I’ll watch the 10-minute highlights of every game and follow all the story lines. Back in Ireland in a few weeks to watch some second round action with my best friend. Don’t think we’ve watched a game together in 15+ years.

That traffic is someone attacking my website, signing up to the mailing list with 1000’s of fake Gmail addresses so the emails bounce and Gmail is more likely to label me a spammer. Interesting timing, this happening a few days after a course creator got real pissed about my critical review of her course.

  11. Feb 2023

Imagine if you could go back in time 10 years and follow yourself around like a fly on the wall, observing all your actions. How much of it would feel familiar, and how much of it would you have no recollection of? I suspect half the time it would be like observing a complete stranger.

The twice-a-week newsletter thing is also a bit of a grind. Often feels like I’m rushing to get the next edition finished. Was sick today, but still had to do some work on it. Up early in the morning to finish it off so my VA has time to get it all prepped for sending.
